Adding a New Column to WooCommerce Invoices, Packing Slips, and Credit Notes Using Customizer

Adding additional columns to a document can significantly enhance its clarity and functionality. By including extra information such as product categories, attributes, or specific tax details, businesses can give customers a more comprehensive overview of their purchases. With WebToffee’s Customizer for WooCommerce PDF Invoices add-on, store owners can easily add columns to invoices, packing slips, and credit notes to highlight additional information. Additional columns can be added to the product table of invoices, packing slips and credit notes. Below are the brief steps for the same:

  1. Head to the Customize page.
  2. Access the Product table.
  3. Add a new column.
  4. Select column type.
  5. Configure the column.
  6. Save changes.

Prerequisite

  1. Install and activate the WooCommerce PDF Invoices, Packing Slips, and Credit Notes add-on (to customize invoices, packing slips, and credit notes).
  2. Install and activate the Customizer for WooCommerce PDF Invoices add-on.

Here are the detailed steps:

Step 1: Head to the Customize page

Navigate to Invoice/Packing > Invoice/Packing slip/ Credit Note > Customize from your WordPress dashboard.

Step 2: Access the Product table

Scroll down and click on the product table of the active template.

Step 3: Add a new column

  • When you click the product table, the editor pane on the right lists all the possible elements that you can include in the product table.
  • Click on the ‘+’ icon at the top right corner of the editor pane.

Step 4: Select column type

Use the column type dropdown to select a column type.

Step 5: Configure the column

  • When you select a column type, additional fields like meta key, column header, etc., appear for further customization.
  • Fill in the corresponding meta key and column header.

Step 6: Save changes

  • Click on Save to add the new column.

  • Click on Save Template to apply the changes to the active template.
