Archiving orders in Shopify is a way to keep your open orders list tidy by moving unnecessary orders that are fully paid and fulfilled, fully refunded, or canceled. It helps you manage and organize your orders more efficiently.
While Shopify provides an option to archive your order, With StoreRobo Import/Export Suite, you can streamline this process by effortlessly archiving or unarchiving orders in bulk.
Use Case
In this tutorial, we’ll demonstrate:
- Archiving all orders fulfilled before May 29th, 2024.
- Unarchiving orders marked as archived by mistake.
Steps to Archive and Unarchive Orders in Bulk
Managing order archives with StoreRobo involves three steps:
- Step1: Export Orders for Archiving/Unarchiving
- Step2: Edit Archive Status in the CSV File / Update CSV(

) - Step3: Import Updated Orders into Shopify
Step 1: Export orders for archiving/unarchiving
- Navigate to Apps > StoreRobo > Export in your Shopify admin.
- Choose an export template (e.g., Shopify CSV) and Proceed.
- Choose Orders as the data type and select columns to export.
Columns to export for archiving or unarchiving orders in bulk:
- Basic columns:
ID
Name
Archived
Ensure you have selected the specified columns for export.
- Apply Filters:
- For this example, I’m exporting orders created on or before may 16th 2024.
- Optional:
- Save the export configuration as a preset for future use.
- Enable Export to FTP/SFTP if required.
- Click Export and download the file.

Step 2: Update the Archive Status in the CSV
- Open the exported CSV file in a spreadsheet editor.
- Delete unnecessary columns or rows(orfers), if any.
- Locate the Archived column:

for orders you want to Un-Archive.
- Set
- Save the updated file.
Step 3: Import Updated Orders
- Navigate to Apps > StoreRobo > Import in Shopify.
- Upload the updated CSV file and click on Upload.
- Under Options, Choose to Update if Orders already exist in the store to update the existing order instead of creating a new one.
- Click Import to begin the process.
After the import is completed, the selected orders will be archived or unarchived based on the updated statuses.
