To ensure compliance with privacy regulations, such as GDPR, when operating a website in a language other than English, it is essential to implement a cookie consent banner in that language. Utilizing WebToffee’s GDPR Cookie Consent plugin facilitates the seamless integration of this banner and allows for customization in the language of your choice.
Steps to change the banner language
Step 1. From the Dashboard, navigate to GDPR Cookie Consent and select the Languages tab. English is set as the default language.
Step 2. You can click the +Add Language button to add the other languages.
Step 3. In the Add Languages pop-up, select the language you need and click Add. Once the required language is added, it will be listed on the Language list.

- English (Default)

- German
- Hungarian
- Italian
- Polish

- Portuguese (BR)
- Slovak

Step 4. Now click on the three dots menu and select Set as Default. The language you have just added will now be your default cookie banner language.
Step 5. Once you’ve added the required languages, you will see them listed in the Language list. You can click on Edit Content to change/adapt the content of your cookie banner in the selected language. On the new screen, you can see your Default Language on the left side and the language you want to Edit language in on the right side. You can then edit the content of the auto-translated text under Cookie Notice, Preference Center, Cookie List, Revisit Consent Button, and Blocked Content.
Step 7. Enable the Preview banner at the top to see the banner in the selected language.
Step 8. Click on Save translation to save the changes.
