The WebToffee Gift Cards for WooCommerce free plugin allows you to create specialized ‘Store Credit’ coupons that customers can use multiple times until their balance is gone. Unlike a standard flat discount that disappears after one use, store credit retains its value for the customer’s next purchase. To set this up, navigate to Marketing > Coupons in your WordPress dashboard, add a new coupon, and select ‘Store credit’ as the Discount Type. Once published, the coupon balance will automatically update every time a customer uses it at checkout. For example, consider making a $10 purchase and having 3 different coupons.
- 25% flat discount coupon: You’ll save $2.5, but it’s no longer usable.
- $25 flat discount coupon: The item is now free, but the coupon is no longer usable, and the remaining $15 cannot be used for other purchases.
- $25 store credit coupon: The item will be free, and you’ll still have $15 left on the coupon to spend on your next purchase.
Creating a store credit coupon
- Install and activate the WebToffee Gift Cards for WooCommerce free plugin.
- From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Marketing > Coupons > Add Coupon.
- Select Store credit as the Discount type.
- Set a Coupon amount.
- Configure the usage restrictions and usage limits as needed.

- Publish the coupon.
The coupon balance will be updated based on usage. For Example, if I place an order worth $30 using the coupon, the coupon balance will be updated to $20.
The coupon can be used in the cart as any other coupon.
