When you want all of the customer data in your WooCommerce store in a file, the best way to do is export the customers to a CSV file. Exporting data into a CSV file helps you easily migrate the data to another store, or if you want to change the data in bulk and update it in the store.

Exporting Customers Using WordPress Users & WooCommerce Import Export Plugin

The plugin gives you a great control over the data that you are exporting to the CSV file. You can configure the plugin to only export the customers that you want, you can export a partial list of customers, filter the customers based on user roles or the date of their registration, and even select which customer data you want in the CSV file.

To give all these power to the WooCommerce plugin, you need to first purchase and install the plugin. After you have installed the plugin, activate it. Now, from the WooCommerce admin dashboard, go to WooCommerce > Customer Import Export.

From this page, you can change the settings of the plugin to export the data into the CSV file. Following are the fields of the plugin:

  1. User Roles: Select user roles for which you want to export details from the given list:User roles
  2. Offset: Enter the user row number at which you wish to start the export.
  3. Limit: Enter the maximum number of users that you wish to export.
  4. From Date: Select the date of registration from which you want to export the users by clicking on the calendar icon.
  5. To Date: Select the date of registration till which you want to export the users by clicking on the calendar icon.

After applying the necessary filter, the next step will take you to the following page:

  1. Select a mapping file for export: Similar to import settings, you can select an existing mapping file for export. This option is enabled only when you create your first mapping file.
  2. Columns: Select the checkbox for required columns if you want to export specific columns. With the Column Name field, you can modify the column header in the CSV file. To do that, simply enter the required column name for the specific column.
  3. Save the export mapping: Enter a mapping filename for exporting.
  4. Delimiter: With this field, you can change the comma separated file to ‘|’ or ‘.” separated file according to your requirement.
  5. Export Guest Users: Check this box if you wish to include guest users to the exported CSV file.
  6. Click Export Users, the CSV file gets auto-downloaded to your computer. The sample users CSV file is as shown below:Exported user CSV

You can directly download the export file with all the fields. To do that, navigate to Dashboard > WooCommerce > Users. The Users page appears as shown below:

  • To export Users, select them. From Bulk Action drop-down list, select Download as CSV and click Apply. All the information about selected User(s) gets auto-downloaded to CSV file.

FTP Settings for Exporting Users

The plugin allows you to schedule automatic import of the customers into the remote server via FTP. To do that, go to the Settings tab of the plugin.

From this page, enable FTP and fill in the required fields. After all the required fields have been filled, this will export all the customer data in a CSV file via FTP on a regular interval.
