PayPal Express Checkout Payment Gateway for WooCommerce(free) plugin allows you to accept payments using PayPal Smart Buttons. However, you will need PayPal Client ID and Secret to integrate PayPal Smart Buttons on your site.
Let’s see how to retrieve PayPal Client ID and Secret.
Steps to get a Client ID and Secret
If you already have a PayPal business account then, Log in to it. Otherwise Signup and create a new business account.
After logging in, get the API Access credential in any of the two ways:
- Go to Activity at the top of the page and choose API Access.

2. Or from Account settings > API Access > View/Update.

From the page that opens up, scroll down to the REST API Integration section and click Manage API apps and credentials.

The REST API apps window opens up. Click on the PayPal Developer experience link to create or manage apps.

Next, click on the create a new app button.

Then, input the application details.

Copy the Client ID and Secret.

Paste the credentials in the respective fields of the plugin.

Hi Jakub,
As the issue is more related to your PayPal account, we can’t give you an exact resolution. You may reach out to PayPal support regarding the same.
