StoreRobo Import Export Suite is a Shopify app that simplifies store data management. This article explains how to import and export Shopify Metaobjects with StoreRobo.
Export Metaobjects
Once you have the app on your store:
- Go to Apps > StoreRobo > Home from the Shopify admin dashboard.
Step 1: Choose Template
- Under the Export section, choose an export template as Shopify CSV.
- Click Proceed to move forward.
Step 2: Select data to export
- Under Select data, choose the data type as Metaobjects.
- Expand the selected data type.
- Under Columns, choose specific data columns to export. Select all columns if you are migrating your store.
- Additionally, click Add new filter under Filters to filter the data columns.
- Set up the necessary filters.
- If you plan to export the data to an FTP server, enable the Export file to FTP/SFTP option and set up a new FTP profile. If you already have an existing FTP/SFTP profile, select it. To know more about setting up FTP profiles, refer to Setting up an FTP/SFTP profile in StoreRobo.
- Next, choose a separator/delimiter to separate your data inside the CSV file.
- To save your current configuration as a preset and ensure you won’t need to reconfigure columns or filters next time for the same export, simply click Save and key in a name for your preset under the Save preset section.
- You can export the data immediately or schedule it for a future date.
Step 3: Export
Click on Export to begin the process. Alternatively, click on Schedule to schedule the Export. For more information on export scheduling, refer to the article Scheduling Shopify Import Export with StoreRobo.
Monitor the export progress until the status changes to Completed. Once the Status changes to Completed, the export will be completed, and you will be notified by email.
If you had chosen FTP/SFTP export, the data will be uploaded to the server. Otherwise, you can download it from here.
Import metaobjects
Once you have the app on your store:
- Go to Apps > StoreRobo> Home from the Shopify admin dashboard.
Step 1: Choose import file
- Under the Import section, choose an import path. The supported import locations are:
- Local storage – Upload the file directly to the app
- URL – URL to a file that is hosted on the web
- FTP/SFTP server – FTP URL to a file that is hosted on a FTP server
- WooCommerce API – Import data directly from WooCommerce store.
- Once you’ve chosen the import path, navigate to Choose Separator and select the delimiter or separator corresponding to the one used in your CSV file. It’s essential to ensure that the correct delimiter is selected, and you can verify this by using the preview feature.
- Under Select data type, select Orders.
- Click on Proceed (Upload for local storage).
Step 2: Review import data
By checking the checkbox, the application will update existing metaobjects in the store if the same is found in the uploaded file.
Step 3: Import
Click on import to begin the import process. Alternatively, click on Schedule to schedule the Export. For more about import scheduling, refer to the article Scheduling Shopify Import Export with StoreRobo.
Monitor the export progress until the status changes to Completed. You will be notified via email when the import process is completed.
