Import and Export WordPress Users, the Best and Easy Way

User data porting from one site to the another requires exporting the data from one site and the importing to another. When you have a huge amount of data to be moved, you would need an easy method with which you can export and import the user data.

The best and easiest way to import and export the user data in WordPress is to install a plugin. And the right plugin to import and export the user data is the WordPress Users & WooCommerce Customers Import Export Plugin.

Once you get your hands on the premium version of the WordPress Users and WooCommerce Customers Import Export plugin for WooCommerce, install and activate it After, you have installed the plugin navigate to WooCommerce > Customer Import Export. This will take you to the plugin page. From the plugin page, you can export all the required Users by using the Export Users option in just two steps. For the first step, the window appears as shown below:

The plugin gives you a lot of control over the data that are exported. You can export the data based on the roles of the users also export a partial list of users in the CSV file.

After applying the filters required for the exported CSV, the Map and Transform button leads to the next step of the export process. The screen for the second step looks as below:

From this page, the exported CSV columns are mapped and exported.

Importing WordPress Users

If you have a CSV on hand, you can use the plugin to easily import users into WordPress store or to update the existing users.

To import users go to WooCommerce > User/Customer Import from your WordPress dashboard. From the plugin page, go to the Import Users in CSV Format.

From this section, by clicking on Import Users button, it will take you to the Import page. If you check the Update User if exists checkbox before clicking Import Users button, it will take you to the Merge Users page.

In both options, you can import the CSV file in two methods. You can import the CSV from your local computer, or you can give the FTP details of the server where the CSV file is saved.

After selecting the file to be imported, the next step is to map the column headers to match with the user data fields. This ensures that the right user data are imported into the right fields and also helps you determine which data you want to import. This comes in as a lifesaver when you are migrating the data from a different platform.

During the mapping, you can also update the data in the CSV file in bulk using the evaluation field. After that, all the user data will be imported to the website with the click of a button.
