Schedule Price Updates for Shopify Products

You may want to schedule a price update for multiple products in your Shopify store during promotional campaigns, sales events, and inventory clearances, ensuring consistency and accuracy. The StoreRobo Import Export Suite by WebToffee helps you schedule price updates for Shopify products at your convenience.

To schedule the price update of products:

  1. Export the products with Basic columns and Variants & Inventory.
  2. Download and filter the unnecessary columns.
  3. Update the price for the products.
  4. Import the CSV file back into the store and schedule the import for a selected date and time.

Use case

Scheduling a price update for the products in the “Clothing” collection for a future date.

Step 1: Export Shopify products to update stock status

To export the necessary products,

  1. Head to StoreRobo Import/Export Suite.
  2. Click on Proceed under Export.

  1. Under Select data, choose Products.
  2. Expand the data type and, under Basic Columns, select ID and Handle.
  3. Under Variants & Inventory, select Option 1 Value and Variant Price (selling price). You can also select the Variant Compare At Price, if you want to alter the original price.

You can use the filter option to select only selected products. For example, we are selecting the products from the Collection Clothing. To know more about how filters products refer to:

  1. Keep other options unchanged and click on Export.

  1. Once the export is done Download the CSV file.

Step 2: Update product prices

Once the CSV file is downloaded,

  1. Open the downloaded CSV file.
  2. Remove any excess columns, keeping only the essential ones: ID, Handle, Variant ID, Option1 Name, Option1 Value, Variant Price. In case there are several option names and values, make sure to include the relevant columns. These option details help differentiate the variants but are not necessary as we already have a Variant ID for that purpose. Moreover, we will be updating the selling price, not the original price.

  1. Update the selling price of the products in the Variant Price column.

  1. Now save the file in CSV format.

Step 3: Import the CSV file back into the store

Once you have successfully modified and saved the CSV file,

  1. Head back to StoreRobo Import/Export Suite.
  2. Under Import, select the updated file from the saved location.
  3. Choose a delimiter as the one you set while saving the file. (comma is the default one). To know more about delimiters, refer to:

  1. You can use the preview option to verify the data.
  2. Under Select data type, select Products.
  3. Click on Proceed.

  1. Under options, select Update if products already exist in the store.
  2. Now Click on Schedule to schedule the import for a future date and time.

  1. Under Schedule on, choose the specific date and time to initiate the update.
  2. Finally, click on Schedule.

The import task will now be included in the scheduled jobs, The import will begin on the selected date and time. You can view the scheduled jobs under StoreRobo > Schedule Jobs.

Once the import process is finished, you will receive a notification via email, and the selling price of the chosen products will be adjusted as shown below.
