Ways to Download WordPress Users & WooCommerce Customers

Last updated on March 2, 2021

You can download all the WordPress users and WooCommerce customers of your WordPress website with the use of WordPress Users & WooCommerce Customers Import Export plugin.

For a WooCommerce store to function properly, the users have a lot of data associated with it. The plugin will also download all the required metadata associated with the user data.

To download the user or customer data from a website, the plugin exports all the data to a CSV/XML file. When you export the data from the store, all the users and customers are downloaded either in CSV or in XML format on your computer.

There are two ways in which you can download the WordPress and WooCommerce data using this plugin:

  1. Download from the plugin page
  2. Scheduled download via FTP.

Download From Plugin Page

To download users and customers from the plugin page:

  1. Navigate to WebToffee Import Export (Pro), after installing and activating the plugin via Plugin Setup .
  2. Click on Export and follow the steps in How to export users to export your site’s user data.
  3. On reaching step 5, click on Export and the following window appears.WooCommerce Import Export-Download-plugin-page
  4. Click on Download file to finish.

Scheduled Download via FTP

For scheduled export of the user and customer data, you have to give the FTP details of the server to which the file will be downloaded to. To give the FTP credentials:

  • Navigate through WebToffee Import Export (Pro)> General  Settings> FTP Settings, add a new FTP profile and save.
  • Go through WebToffee Import Export (Pro)>Export and follow the steps in How to export users to export your site’s user data.
  • On reaching step 5, enable the FTP export> select the FTP profile and click on Schedule.WooCommerce Import Export-schedule

The plugin supports two different schedule types:

  1. WordPress Cron: Upon a visit, WordPress Cron will check to see if the time/date is later than the scheduled event/s, and if it is– it will fire those events.
    • schedules your job at the specified time.
    • is dependent on your website visitors.
  2. Server Cron: You may need to trigger the URL every minute depending on the volume of data to be processed. You can use this option :
    • to generate a unique URL that can be added to your system in order to trigger the events.
    • if you have a separate system to trigger the scheduled events.

File name : Specify a filename for the exported file(the contents of this file will be overwritten for every export). If left blank the system generates a default name(a new filename is generated for every export).

Schedule the time at which you want the automatic export to occur and also give other necessary information for the export. And then click on Schedule Now.
