This guide walks you through the essential settings to configure after installing the WooCommerce Shipping Labels, Dispatch Labels, and Delivery Notes plugin, which is an add-on to the WooCommerce PDF Invoices, Packing Slips, Delivery Notes, and Shipping Labels (free) plugin. With the Pro add-on, you can unlock powerful features and customization options for creating more professional and detailed shipping documents. If you want to generate customized shipping labels with extra order or product details or are looking to fine-tune the layout to your brand, the Pro version gives you the flexibility you need.
What’s New in the Pro Add-On
In addition to all the features available in the free version, the Pro add-on unlocks advanced options to further enhance your shipping labels, dispatch labels, and delivery notes, including:
- Generate custom-sized shipping labels – Define label dimensions to match your label sheets.
- Multiple shipping labels on a single page – Print multiple shipping labels on a single sheet.
- Display additional order details – Include meta fields and attributes on your documents.
- Add a print button to order emails – Allow customers or admins to print labels and notes directly from emails.
- Customizable pre-built layouts
- Built-in code editor
Prerequisites
There are two types of users:
- Existing users of the free version who have already configured store details and documents.
- New users installing both free and pro versions for the first time.
New users will encounter a setup wizard. You can skip it, but in that case, go to Invoice/Packing > General Settings > General and enter your store details manually.
This article focuses on what you need to set up after installing the pro add-on, especially to configure Shipping Labels, Dispatch Labels, and Delivery Notes settings.
Shipping Label – Essential Configurations
Once the pro add-on is installed:
1. Access Shipping Label Settings
- Navigate to Invoice/Packing > Shipping Label from the WordPress dashboard.
2. Enable Multiple Labels Per Page
- “Enable multiple labels in one page” to print more than one shipping label on a single sheet.
- This is especially useful for bulk printing.
3. Set Number of Labels Per Row
- When enabled, you can specify the number of labels per row.
- Adjust this value based on your paper size or layout preference.
4. Choose Shipping Label Size
This setting allows you to define how much space each shipping label should occupy on the printed page. It’s especially useful when you’re printing multiple labels per sheet.
- Choose between:
- Full Page – Select this if you want each shipping label to take up an entire page (usually A4 or Letter size).
- Custom Size – Choose this option if you’re printing on sheets with pre-sized labels (e.g., 4×6 inches, 2×3 inches, etc.).
5. Add “Print Shipping Label” Button in Customer Emails
- Under “Show ‘Print Shipping Label’ button for selected order statuses”, choose which order statuses should include this button in customer emails.
- Customers can then directly print the label from their email.
6. Save settings
- Click Update Settings to save changes.
Note: Use the Customize tab to adjust the label layout.
Dispatch Label – Essential Configurations
Follow the steps below to configure dispatch label settings:
1. Access the Dispatch Label Settings
- Go to Invoice/Packing > Dispatch Label from your WordPress dashboard.
- This takes you to the general settings tab, where you can configure how the dispatch label behaves and what details it includes.
2. Sort Products in the Dispatch Label
- Under the Product display section, you’ll find the “Sort products by” option.
- This allows you to define the order in which products should be listed in the dispatch label.
- You can sort by:
- Name (alphabetically) or SKU (Stock Keeping Unit).
3. Show Product Variation Data
- Beneath the sorting option, you’ll see “Show variation data below each product”. Enable it to include product variation details—such as size, color, or material—under each item in the dispatch label.
- This is helpful when:
- You sell variable products.
- You need to ensure that the exact variation is picked and packed correctly.
4. Add “Print Dispatch Label” Button in Order Emails
- Scroll to the Print section, and look for “Show ‘Print Dispatch Label’ button for selected order statuses”
- Select the order statuses (like Processing or Completed) where you want to include a Print Dispatch Label button in the order emails.
- How it works:
- When an order reaches a selected status, WooCommerce sends an email notification.
- The plugin automatically adds a “Print Dispatch Label” button to that email.
- This allows customers or store admins to print the dispatch label right from their inbox.
5. Save settings
- Click Update Settings to save changes.
Delivery Note – Essential Configurations
After installing the pro add-on, follow these steps to configure the delivery note settings:
1. Access the Delivery Note Settings
- Go to Invoice/Packing > Delivery Note from your WordPress dashboard.
- You’ll be taken to the delivery note settings page, where you can configure how it behaves and what details it includes.
2. Sort Products in the Delivery Note
- Under the Product display section, go to the Sort products by dropdown.
- Select how you want to sort the products—either by Name or SKU. This ensures that the delivery note displays items in a consistent and organized order.
3. Enable Product Variation Data
- Enable the Show variation data below each product option.
- This setting adds variation details—such as size, color, or material—under each product. It helps you ensure accuracy when packing variable products.
4. Attach Delivery Note PDF to Order Emails
- In the Print section, go to Attach delivery note PDF in the order email.
- Select the order statuses (like Processing or Completed) where you want to include the delivery note PDF in order emails. This lets customers or store admins easily access and print the delivery note from their inbox.
5. Save Settings
- Click Update Settings to apply and save your changes.
