Under privacy laws like the GDPR, website visitors have the right to request a copy of the personal data you hold about them, or to have it deleted. There aren’t any visitor-friendly interface or ready-made frontend page , where the visitor can handle these requests on their own.
The GDPR Cookie Consent plugin solves this with Privacy Request Pages, a feature that lets you generate frontend pages for data export and data erasure requests in a single click, and connects them directly to the native WordPress Privacy Tools you already use to manage such requests.
What Are Privacy Request Pages?
Privacy Request Pages are frontend forms where your site visitors can:
- Request a copy of their personal data (data export)
- Request the deletion of their personal data (data erasure)
Once a visitor submits a request through one of these pages, it’s automatically added to your WordPress dashboard under Tools > Export Personal Data or Tools > Erase Personal Data, so you can review, verify, and process it the same way you would any other privacy request.
Where to Find the Privacy Request Page Settings
- From the WordPress Dashboard Go to GDPR Cookie Consent > Advanced.
- Scroll to the Privacy Request Pages section.
Here you’ll see two buttons, Create Data Export Request Page and Create Data Erasure Request Page, along with fields to manage and link to requests you’ve already set up.

Creating the Pages
Step 1: Create the Data Export Request Page
Click + Create Data Export Request Page.
The plugin automatically creates a new WordPress page with the data export request form embedded. You don’t need to build or design this page yourself.
Step 2: Create the Data Erasure Request Page
Click + Create Data Erasure Request Page.
Similarly, this creates a page with the erasure request form. Once created, both pages are ready to publish and link to from your site (for example, from your footer, privacy policy, or account page).
Managing Submitted Requests
Under Manage Requests, you’ll find two links:
- View Export Requests – opens Tools > Export Personal Data in your WordPress dashboard
- View Erasure Requests – opens Tools > Erase Personal Data in your WordPress dashboard
Any request submitted through your Privacy Request Pages shows up here, where you can confirm the visitor’s identity and complete or reject the request following WordPress’s standard privacy request workflow.

Using the Shortcodes Directly
If you’d rather add the request forms to an existing page instead of using the auto-generated ones, you can insert the shortcodes manually:
| Purpose | Shortcode |
|---|---|
| Data export form | [wcc_data_export_page] |
| Data export form with custom button label | [wcc_data_export_page label="Send my personal data"] |
| Data erasure form | [wcc_data_erasure_page] |
| Data erasure form with custom button label | [wcc_data_erasure_page label="Delete my personal data"] |
The label attribute lets you customize the button text to match your site’s tone, without touching any code.
Handling data subject requests manually, through email or a contact form, means extra work to route each request into WordPress’s privacy tools. Privacy Request Pages remove that step: visitors submit requests directly through a page on your site, and those requests land exactly where you already process them, keeping your GDPR compliance workflow in one place.
