Once you install and activate the WebToffee Request a Quote plugin, a setup wizard launches automatically. The wizard walks you through the essential configuration in three steps: Quote setup, Appearance, and Activate license. You can complete all three steps in a few minutes and start accepting quote requests right away.
If you prefer to configure the plugin manually, click Skip quote setup at the bottom of the wizard to go directly to the dashboard.
Step 1: Quote Setup
The first step covers the core behaviour of the quote system which products display the Add to quote button, where the button appears, and how quotes are handled.

Show ‘Add to quote’ button for
Choose which products the Add to quote button appears on. The available options are:
- All products — Displays the button on every product in your store. This is selected by default.
- Featured products — Limits the button to products marked as featured in WooCommerce.
- Out of stock products — Shows the button only on products that are currently out of stock, useful for letting customers enquire about unavailable items.
- Backorders — Displays the button on products that allow backorders.
- Manually select products — Lets you handpick specific products to display the button on.
Pages to show ‘Add to quote’ button
Select which pages the Add to quote button appears on. Both options are enabled by default:
- Shop — Shows the button on the main shop/product listing page.
- Single product page — Shows the button on individual product pages.
Enable quote-only mode
Quote-only mode removes standard purchase options from your storefront, making quoting the only way customers can enquire about products. You can enable either or both of the following:
- Hide prices — Hides product prices from the storefront.
- Hide ‘Add to cart’ button — Removes the Add to cart button so customers can only use the Add to quote button.
This is useful for B2B stores, wholesale businesses, or any store where pricing is negotiated rather than fixed.
Generate and send quotes automatically
When this option is enabled, the plugin automatically generates and sends a quote to the customer upon submission, without requiring manual review by the store admin. Leave this unchecked if you want to review and approve each quote before it is sent.
Once you have configured these settings, click Next to proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Appearance
The second step handles the visual setup of the plugin, including PDF generation capability and button styling.

Install MPDF Add-on
The MPDF add-on is required to generate quote PDFs. Click Quick add to install it instantly in the background without leaving the wizard. Once installed, the plugin can generate downloadable PDF versions of quotes for both customers and store admins.
Smart Color Matching
When enabled, Smart color matching automatically styles the Add to quote and Request a quote buttons to match your store’s existing WooCommerce theme. This ensures the quote buttons look consistent with the rest of your storefront without any manual styling. This option is enabled by default.
If you want to define custom button colors instead, you can do so later from Quotes > Settings > Quote Settings > Customize Layout.
Click Next to proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Activate License
The final step is license activation. Enter your license key in the LICENSE KEY field and click Activate. Activating your license enables automatic plugin updates and access to support.

Your license key is available in your WebToffee account under your order details.
Quote Setup Summary
Before you finish, a Quote setup summary is displayed at the bottom of the page, reflecting the choices you made in Steps 1 and 2. Review this to confirm your settings before going live.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Visible on | Shop and product pages |
| Applies to | All products |
| Purchase mode | Standard |
| Quote handling | Manual review |
| Button style | Matches your store theme |
If anything looks incorrect, click Back to return to the relevant step and make changes.
Once you are satisfied, click Enable quotes on my store to complete the setup.
Setup Complete
After completing all three steps, a confirmation screen appears with the message All Set! — confirming that your quotation system is now configured and live on your website. Click Go to dashboard to proceed to the plugin dashboard.

Getting Started Checklist
After the wizard completes, the plugin dashboard displays a Getting started checklist to help you finish any remaining configuration. The checklist tracks four tasks:
- Finish setup wizard — Marked complete automatically once the wizard is done.
- Install MPDF add-on — Marked complete once the MPDF add-on is installed.
- Review quote settings — Links to the full Quote Settings page for deeper configuration.
- Configure email notification — Links to the email notification settings so you can customise the emails sent to customers and admins at each stage of the quote process.
The checklist shows progress as X of 4 complete

At the top of the dashboard, the Enable quotes on site toggle lets you turn the entire quotation system on or off without changing any of your settings.

Hi
I’ve received this quote request.
“Hi Lee, we would like to order only 1 refill for 2026 and I require an invoice before I can process the payment. Are you able to send me one please?”
I’ve gone into the quote and added shipping costs which were missing because I intentionally disabled that in case the request required irregular shipping costs.
How should I proceed now?
1. Send the Quote back to the customer and tell them to decide to pay or not, based on the quote, however I’m guessing their internal processes probably require an Invoice regardless, in which case…
2. Convert the quote to an order and send them an Invoice. Can I even do this?

Hi Lee,
Thank you for reaching out,
Currently, the quotes plugin does not generate invoices directly. However, you can download and share a PDF version of the quote with the customer.
If you’re using an invoice plugin (such as WebToffee PDF Invoices & Packing Slips), it’s potentially possible to generate an invoice for the quote, but this depends on the setup and plugin compatibility.
Since this requires checking your exact configuration, we recommend contacting our support team. They can review your site setup and guide you on the best possible workflow.

Hi Gerald Munier,
Thank you for reaching out,
Currently, the plugin does not support French translation. We continually strive to enhance our products and hope to include additional language support in future updates.

I’m facing an issue with the WebToffee WooCommerce Request a Quote plugin on our website. Whilst it works correctly for customers on the front end, there’s a problem on the backend. When placing a quote on behalf of a customer, they only receive an HTML file, lacking both the PDF attachment and the Accept/Decline buttons. Could you provide any assistance or guidance to resolve this issue?

I am looking at this plugin for a client with a translation service business. Some of their services require more information (upload of a document or date of an appointment) to determine a quote. I am trying to determine if your quote plugin might be able to help me with this. I have a few different ways I might be able to get the form information attached to the product (ideally using WooCommerce Gravity Forms Product Add-ons) but have yet to find a quote plugin that would attach those fields to the quote request. Do you know if that is possible with your plugin? Or any other way I might achieve this with your plugin?
Thank you.
