Configure “Display criteria” in Product Recommendations

The display criteria for the product recommendation section enable the definition of when and under what conditions the recommendation section should be displayed to the users. Setting specific criteria ensures that the section will only be visible if the specified conditions match the product(s) characteristics present on the page or the status of the website. This level of customization enhances the user experience and increases the likelihood of engagement and conversions.

On setting Category as the display criterion, the recommendation section will only be visible if the category of the product(s) on the current page matches the selected category.

• Consider the given combination. The product recommendation section will only be visible if the product(s) on the current page belong to the Fashion category.

• If “is not” is selected in the operator section, the product recommendation section will only be visible if the product(s) on the current page doesn’t belong to the Fashion category.

• If you select multiple criteria in the section, the recommendation section will be visible if any of the selected categories match the category of the product(s) on the current page.

When setting Product as the display criterion, the recommendation section will only be visible if the product(s) on the page match the selected product or products. This allows for creating targeted recommendations based on a particular product of interest.

• Consider the given combination. The product recommendation section will only be visible if the product(s) present on the page is Divi Tee with product id – #2276.

• If “is not” is selected in the operator section, the product recommendation section will only be visible if the product(s) present on the current page is not Divi Tee with product id – #2276.

• If multiple products are selected in the section, then the recommendation section will be visible only if the product(s) on the current page match any of the selected products.

When you set User as the display criterion, the recommendation section will only be visible to the users with the selected roll.

• Consider the given combination. The product recommendation section will only be visible to the users who are registered as customers.

• When selecting “is a guest” in the operator section, the product recommendation section will only be visible to the guest users.

When the Stock status is set as a display criterion, the recommendation section will only be visible if the stock status selected here matches the stock status of the product(s) displayed.

• Consider the given combination. The product recommendation section will only be visible if the displayed product is in stock.

• When you select Out of stock in the operator section, the product recommendation section will only be visible if the displayed product is out of stock.

• On selecting On backorder in the operator section, the product recommendation section will only be visible if the displayed product is available for backorder.

Another handy feature the plugin provides is the ability to add multiple filters simultaneously to narrow down the products displayed in the recommendation section.

For the shown example, the displayed products in the recommendation section will be limited to those from the Accessories category that were added in the last 24 hours and belong to the user’s recently viewed products list.
