This article explains how to set up a “Recommended for You” recommendation with the help of the WooCommerce Product Recommendation plugin using four key data sources: recently viewed products, recently viewed categories, frequently bought-together products, and the Current products’ category.
Steps to create a “Recommended for you” recommendation
- To create the recommendation, From the WordPress dashboard navigate to WooCommerce > Product Recommendation > Create new recommendation.
- Select the page as Single product page and click on Create your own product recommendation.
- The Customization window opens with a variety of options to create the desired recommendation.
- Enter the section title as “Recommended for you” or select a suitable heading of preference.
- The next step is to select What to display in the recommendation section. For the “Recommended for you” recommendation, create the following filters using the Products to be recommended filter.
– Set Recently Viewed as Yes
– Set Recently Viewed Category as Any
– Select Frequently Bought Together
– Set Current products category as Any - Next, configure the Display criteria to display the recommendations only for the logged-in customers.
– Set “User” as “is a customer”. - Next, to display the most popular product from the list as a first item, configure the Sort products by filter.
– Set “Popularity” as “High to Low”. - Now, from the Position of recommendation option, select “Above product description”.
- Set up Number of products to show per page and Total number of products to show as per your interest.
- Finally, Click on Create recommendation to create and activate the recommendation.
