You can manage StoreRobo imports and exports using Shopify Sidekick by entering natural-language prompts directly in the Shopify admin. With the StoreRobo Import Export App, Sidekick can prepare exports, check import and export jobs, retrieve completed export files, explain import errors, and surface StoreRobo help content without opening the app for every task.
This article explains the StoreRobo tasks you can perform using Shopify Sidekick.
The first time you ask Sidekick to perform a StoreRobo task, Sidekick asks for your permission to use StoreRobo. Select Yes to allow it once, or Yes, and don’t ask again to skip this confirmation for future requests.

Set Up an Export Using Sidekick
You can describe the data you want to export in plain language, and Sidekick can use StoreRobo to prepare the export for you.
For example, enter:
“Export all active products to CSV.”
StoreRobo prepares the export configuration based on your request and provides a link to the pre-filled export screen.

Open the link, review the export settings, and click Export to begin the export. You can also adjust the configuration before starting — for example, customize which columns to include.

Sidekick cannot start an export automatically. You must review and confirm the export from StoreRobo before it runs.
You can specify details such as the data type, filters, and export format in your prompt.
For example:
- “Export my active products to CSV.”
- “Export my customers.”
- “Export orders from yesterday.”
For more on configuring exports, refer to Import / Export Shopify Products with StoreRobo.
Check Recent Import and Export Jobs
You can ask Sidekick for the status of your recent StoreRobo jobs without opening the app.
For example:
“Show me my recent import jobs.”
Sidekick lists your recent jobs along with information such as:
- The import/export file name, linked to the job in StoreRobo
- Job status (Completed or Failed)
- Number of rows processed, succeeded, and skipped
- The date of the job
If a recent job has failed, Sidekick may point it out and offer to explain what went wrong.

You can also ask specifically for recent export jobs — for example, “Show my recent exports.”
Selecting a job link opens the corresponding job details directly in StoreRobo. You can also view all completed jobs anytime from Apps > StoreRobo > Log History.
View the Details of a Specific Job
If you want more information about a particular import or export, reference the job in your Sidekick message.
For example:
- “Show me the details of job 12345.”
- “What happened to yesterday’s customer export?”
- “Check my product import from this morning.”
Sidekick can retrieve information such as the job status, row counts, start and completion times, and a link to the corresponding job.
Download a Completed Export
You can ask Sidekick for the download link of a completed StoreRobo export.
For example:
“Give me the download link for my latest product export.”
Sidekick returns a link that you can open in your browser to download the exported file.

Export files are not displayed directly inside the Sidekick chat, and download links provided by Sidekick expire in 7 days. You can retrieve the file any time from Apps > StoreRobo > Log History.
To learn more about export file links, refer to How to Copy and Share the Public File URL of an Exported File in StoreRobo.
Understand Import Errors
If an import contains errors, you can ask Sidekick to explain what went wrong.
For example:
“Why did my recent import fail?”
StoreRobo retrieves the error information for the corresponding import, and Sidekick presents it in an easier-to-understand format. It explains the cause of the failure, including invalid field values, missing required fields, or a processing timeout — along with suggestions on what to try next, such as re-running the import or splitting the file into smaller batches.

You can also open the provided error-log link to review the complete error details. For common import issues and fixes, refer to the StoreRobo Troubleshooting Guide.
Repeat a Previous Export
Sidekick can also help you reuse the configuration of a previous StoreRobo export.
For example:
“Export the same products I exported yesterday.”
StoreRobo finds the relevant previous export and opens a new export setup with the previous configuration already applied.
If more than one previous export matches your request, Sidekick may ask you to specify which export you want to reuse.
Ask StoreRobo How-To Questions
You can use Sidekick to ask questions about using StoreRobo.
For example:
- “How do I export products using StoreRobo?”
- “What does this import error mean?”
- “How can I filter products during export?”
Sidekick retrieves relevant information from StoreRobo documentation and can provide a link to the complete help article when available.
What You Cannot Do Through Sidekick
Some StoreRobo operations still require you to interact directly with the app.
Using Sidekick, you cannot:
- Automatically start an export without confirming it in StoreRobo.
- Upload an import file through the Sidekick chat.
- View an exported file directly inside the Sidekick conversation.
For these actions, Sidekick directs you to the appropriate StoreRobo page or provides the relevant link.
Shopify Sidekick provides a conversational way to access several StoreRobo import and export workflows from the Shopify admin. You can use it to prepare exports, monitor jobs, retrieve export links, understand import errors, repeat previous exports, and find StoreRobo help content without manually navigating through the app for every task.
