When you export Shopify data with StoreRobo, every completed export generates a file URL. This is a shareable link to the exported file that you can copy from the final export screen and share with people, teams, or external systems outside your store admin area.
With the StoreRobo Import Export App for Shopify, the file URL is created automatically for every export. There is no need to enable any additional option. Once the export is completed, you can either copy the file URL or download the exported file from the same screen.
What is the export file URL?
The export file URL is a shareable link generated for the exported file. Anyone with the link can access and download the exported file directly. This is useful when you want to share order reports, product data, customer exports, or other exported files with people or systems outside your store admin area.

Anyone with the link can download the file. Share the URL only with trusted people and systems.
Steps to get and share the export file URL
Step 1: Choose the export template
Go to Apps > StoreRobo > Home from your Shopify admin dashboard.
Under the Export section:
- Select an export template based on your requirement, such as Shopify CSV or Shopify Excel
- Click Proceed
Step 2: Select the data to export
Under Select data:
- Choose the required data type(s), such as Products, Orders, Customers, Discounts, or Collections
- Expand each selected data type to choose specific columns or apply filters if required
Step 3: Configure export options (optional)
- Enable Export to FTP/SFTP if you also want to upload the file to a server
- Save your configuration as a preset for future use
- Choose to export immediately or schedule the export
Step 4: Run the export
Click Export to begin the process.
Monitor the export progress until the status changes to Completed.
Step 5: Copy the file URL
On the final export screen, the completed job shows a File URL field along with two actions:
- Copy link — copies the file URL so you can share it with people or systems
- Download file — downloads the exported file directly
Click the ‘Copy link’ button next to the File URL field to copy the shareable link.
Opening the URL in any browser downloads the file automatically, with no login required. The same link works for multiple people, so anyone you share it with can access the file.
Retrieving the file URL later from Log History
If you didn’t copy the link right after exporting, you can retrieve it any time from your export history.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > StoreRobo and click Log History.
- On the Import/Export History page, locate the export entry you need. Each entry shows the data types exported, the job ID, the start time, the duration, and the status.
- Click View Job on that entry to open its export details.
- In the export details, copy the link from the File URL field, or use Download file to get the file directly.
The export file URL makes it easy to share exported Shopify data without granting backend access. Since the link is generated automatically for every export, you can copy it from the final screen right after the export completes, or return to your export history to reuse and reshare it any time.
