How to Import Data to Shopify Using FTP or SFTP

Last updated on April 24, 2026

You can import product data to Shopify using FTP/SFTP with the StoreRobo Import Export Suite by first setting up an FTP profile in the app, then uploading your product import file to that server, and running the import from the FTP/SFTP location. This lets you automate imports directly from your FTP server without manual file uploads.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to configure your FTP profile and complete the import step by step.

Step 1: Create an FTP/SFTP Profile

  1. From the Shopify admin dashboard, go to Apps > StoreRobo > Home.
  2. Under Import Products, select FTP/SFTP server.
  3. Click Add Profile.
