WebToffee’s Frequently Bought Together for WooCommerce plugin provides a valuable feature that allows displaying of frequently bought-together (FBT) products, along with attractive deals for customers who want to buy them as a bundle. The plugin offers three categories of products to display on the recommendation section:
1. Automatic recommendation
By enabling the Frequently Bought Together for WooCommerce plugin, it automatically identifies frequently bought together products for each item on your website using an algorithm. These products are then displayed on the respective single product page. To know more about how the algorithm works, refer to the article.
To enable automatic recommendation:
- From the WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to WooCommerce > Frequently Bought Together > General Settings.
- Enable Suggest products automatically.
- Click on Save settings to save the configuration.
2. Upsells, Cross-sells, and Related products
The automatic recommendation feature is driven by an algorithm, and there are predefined limits for recommending products. In cases where there are no frequently bought together products available for certain items, instead of leaving the section blank, you can display other relevant products such as:
- Upsells – Similar products with higher margins. These are the products specified as upselling items through the Product Data meta box on the WooCommerce Product page.
- Cross sells – Complementary or similar products to what the customer is already purchasing. The products specified as cross-selling items through the Product Data meta box in the WooCommerce Product page.
- Related products – Products from the same category. Compatible with WebToffee’s Related Products for WooCommerce plugin and can be configured to set related products as frequently bought products.
To display the listed products as a recommendation:
- From the WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to WooCommerce > Frequently Bought Together > General Settings.
- Under the option Suggest product from, select the type of products to display in the recommendation section. It is possible to select multiple options at a time.
3. Custom products
In addition to automatically recommended products, you can also display custom products of your choice in the recommendation section. This allows you to select specific products to display as recommendations. To do this, follow these steps:
- From the WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to WooCommerce > Frequently Bought Together > Set custom products.
- Select the product which you want to display the recommendations for, and then select the products you want to display as a recommendation under the selected products. To know more about how to create custom recommendations, refer to the article.
