Default Gift Card Codes
By default, the plugin generates random 19-digit gift card codes. However, you can override this and create custom codes to suit your preferences.
How to Set Up Custom Gift Card Codes
- Install and activate the WebToffee WooCommerce Gift Cards plugin.
- From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Gift Cards > Send gift card.

- Configure the gift card with the desired amount, template, and other details.
- Enable the option Use custom gift card code.
- Enter a custom gift card code in the Gift card code field. Please read the instructions below before configuring a custom gift card code.
Guidelines for Configuring Custom Gift Card Codes
- Character Types: Use alphanumeric characters and hyphens (-).
- Character Limit: The maximum character limit is 12.
- Random Characters: Use “ * ” to automatically insert random characters.
- Example:
GIFT-****-2024will generate codes likeGIFT-AB3D-2024andGIFT-JAGY-2024.

- Multiple Codes: Use more “ * ” to generate more unique codes.
- Uniqueness: If you don’t use “ * ”, the same code will be shared with every user. Sending gift cards to multiple users at once without “ * ” will fail, as only one unique code will be created.

Custom codes can reflect your store’s branding, adding a layer of brand visibility. For example, if your store is named WebToffee, you can create a gift card code like WEBTOFFEE-****-****, which may generate codes like WEBTOFFEE-1234-ABCD and WEBTOFFEE-BWS4-ISGR.
