How to Create Store Credit Coupons in WooCommerce

Use the WebToffee WooCommerce Gift Cards plugin to create store credit coupons in WooCommerce, and issue reusable discount codes that function like a digital wallet. Unlike traditional coupons that disappear after a single use, a store credit coupon maintains a running balance, allowing customers to spend it across multiple orders until the total value is exhausted. By selecting “Store credit” as the discount type in your coupon settings, you can provide customers with a flexible payment alternative for refunds, gifts, or loyalty rewards.

For instance, consider having a 50% discount coupon, a $50 flat discount coupon, and a $50 store credit coupon when making a $30 purchase.

• With the 50% off coupon, you’ll receive a $15 discount, but it cannot be used for subsequent purchases.
• The $50 flat discount coupon will make the product free, but it cannot be used for future purchases, leaving $20 unused.
• On the other hand, the $50 store credit coupon will make the product free, with the remaining $20 available for use in your next purchase.

1. From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Marketing > Coupons > Add Coupon.
2. Select the Discount type as Store credit.
3. Set a Coupon amount.
4. Configure the usage restrictions and usage limits as needed.

6. Publish the coupon.

The coupon balance will be adjusted according to its usage. For instance, if I place an order amounting to $30 using the coupon, the updated coupon balance would be $20.

The coupon can be redeemed in the cart as the same as any other coupon.

Managing multiple store credit coupons can be a huge task for customers, especially during purchases. This is where the store credit balance comes in handy. It’s like a digital wallet, customers can redeem their store credit coupons or gift cards into this wallet, consolidating the total amount, and customers no longer need to keep track of each individual coupon; they can simply use their wallet balance for purchases.

Customers can redeem their store credit coupon to store credit balance from the store’s My Account > Store Credit.
