The WebToffee eCommerce Marketing Automation app features a visual drag-and-drop editor that lets you fully customize the look and feel of your automated emails. To start designing, open any automation workflow, click on the ‘Email’ block, and select ‘Edit Content.’ You can easily upload your brand logo, change colors and fonts, add dynamic coupon blocks, and use multi-column layouts to ensure your emails look professional and drive more sales on both desktop and mobile devices.
This guide will show you how to design an email that reflects your brand and delivers results before you publish your workflow.
Step 1: Open the Automation Workflow
Start by accessing the automation builder:
- From the Marketing sidebar menu, go to Automations, click Create automation.
- Start a new workflow, or click Edit on an existing one.
- Inside the workflow editor, click on the Email block.
- Then, click Edit Content to open the email editor.

Step 2: Get Familiar with the Email Editor Interface
Once the editor opens, you’ll see three main areas:
- Preview Area (center) – This section displays how your email will look to recipients.
- Left Sidebar – Here, you can drag and drop blocks, such as text, images, buttons, and coupons.
- Right Sidebar – This section offers customization options for the selected block, including fonts, colors, padding, and links.
At the top left, you’ll find a toggle to preview how the email looks on desktop or mobile.

Step 3: Add or Replace the Logo
- If your logo is already uploaded, it will show up at the top.
- To change it, click on the logo block.
- On the right panel, click Select Image to upload a new logo.
- You can also adjust padding and alignment from the same panel.

Step 4: Edit Texts in the Email

- Edit the text directly in the preview area.
- Use the right sidebar to:
- Change font and font size
- Align text (left, center, right)
- Choose a font and background color
- Adjust padding and spacing
Example: Change “Welcome to our store” to “Hey [First Name], here’s your gift!”

Step 5: Configure the Coupon Block
To offer a discount:

- On the right sidebar, you can:
- Choose Generate coupon or Use existing coupon
- Set coupon type (e.g., percentage or fixed discount)
- Define the discount value (e.g., 10%)
- Optionally, set a validity period (e.g., 7 days)
- Enable advanced options:

Step 6: Add Layout Sections (1, 2, or 3 Columns)
To structure your email into organized content blocks:
- Use the Section layouts from the left panel to create 1-column, 2-column, or 3-column layouts.
- Drag blocks into these sections (e.g., text on the left, image on the right).

Step 7: Add New Blocks to the Email
You can improve your email with extra blocks from the left sidebar. Just drag and drop them into your layout.
Popular blocks include:

- Button – For call-to-action (e.g., “Shop Now” or “Use My Discount”)
- Image – Add product visuals or banners
- Coupon – Show a discount code
- Social Block – Add icons for Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Divider/Spacer – Visually separate content
- Navbar/Link – Add navigation links (like “View Store”)

Step 8: Customize the Button Block
Buttons help encourage users to take action. Here’s how to edit one:
- Click on the Button block in your template.
- Change the button text (for example, “Start Shopping”) by double-clicking on it.
- On the right panel, you can:
- Add a URL (like your homepage or product collection)
- Customize the background color and font
- Adjust the button size and alignment

Step 9: Undo and Redo Options
If you make a mistake:
- Use the Undo and Redo buttons at the top of the editor to revert to a previous state or reapply recent changes.

Step 10: Preview on Desktop and Mobile
At the top left of the editor, click the desktop or mobile icon to see how the email will look on different devices.
Ensure that everything appears clean, readable, and clickable on both views.

Step 11: Finish and Save Your Changes
Once you’re satisfied with the design,
- Click Finish Editing to save the email.
- Continue with any remaining setup in your automation flow.
- Finally, click Publish to activate the automation.

You have successfully customized the email content for your automation workflow. Whether it’s a warm welcome, a reminder about an abandoned cart, or a re-engagement email, your email will now look polished, personalized, and ready to convert.
