The WebToffee eCommerce Marketing Automation app allows you to recover revenue from out-of-stock products by setting up Restock Alerts. To get started, navigate to Forms & Widgets > Widgets in the web app and select ‘Restock Alert’ to create a ‘Notify Me’ button or an embedded signup form. Once the widget is published, you must also enable the ‘Restock Alert’ email automation under the Automations tab to ensure that customers receive a notification the moment the product is back in stock. Follow the steps below to add a restock alert widget to your WooCommerce store.
Step 1: Open the Restock Alert Widget
- From the WebToffee Marketing dashboard, go to Forms & Widgets > Widgets.
- Select Restock Alert from the list of available widgets.

Step 2: Choose a Widget Type
- You can display the widget in two formats:
- Button + Popup: A Notify me” button appears next to the product. When clicked, it opens a pop-up that lets shoppers enter their email address.
- Embedded Form: Shows the signup field inline on the product page for a seamless experience.
- Select a format and click Continue to Customize to proceed.

Step 3: Configure Widget Settings
- Click Continue to Customize to enter the widget settings screen.
- In the left panel under Widget settings, you can configure targeting conditions and display settings for the widget.
- Audience: Choose whether the alert appears for all visitors, new visitors, or returning visitors.
- UTM Parameters: Target visitors from specific campaigns, sources, IDs, mediums, content, and terms.
- Page URLs: Include or exclude specific product pages.
- Product Category: Display the alert only for specific product categories.
- If no conditions are set, the widget will automatically appear for all out-of-stock products.
- Next, select the widget’s visibility: all devices, desktops, or mobile devices.

Step 4: Customize the Restock Alert Popup or Form
- Click Edit Template to customize the layout and content.

- You can modify:
- Text & fonts – Edit the headline (“Notify me when back in stock”) and supporting message. Double-click to edit text and change its properties in the right panel.
- Input fields – Add or remove email, name, or phone number fields. Drag and drop blocks from the Blocks panel on the left.
- CTA button – Update the label (e.g., Notify me), style, and click action. Click the button, then customize its properties in the right panel.
- Legal consent – Add a consent checkbox if you’ll use the email for other marketing.
- Sections – Insert additional sections to add blocks such as images or spacers that match your branding.

Step 5: Customize the Success Message
- After email submission, show a confirmation message to subscribers.
- Here, you can edit the success message (e.g., “Thank you for subscribing! We’ll notify you when the product is back.”) to personalize the experience. Also, customize its properties on the right panel.

Step 6: Save and Publish the Widget
- When done, click Finish editing.
- Click Publish to make the widget live.
Step 7: Enable the Restock Alert Email Automation
Publishing the alert widget will capture users, but it is crucial to enable Restock alert automation to send emails when items are restocked. To enable restock email automation:
- Go to Automations from the dashboard, and click Create automations.

- Scroll down to the Browse by goals section, click Engage visitors > Explore automations.

- Find Restock alert and click Use template.

- Review the trigger and skip contacts if needed.
- Click the email block and customize it from the right panel.

- Click Edit Content to customize the look and feel of the restock email.
- Make sure the email includes the following:
- Subject ideas: “Good news, your item is back in stock!”
- Body: Keep it short. Include product name/image and a clear CTA.
- Dynamic content: Use the product block/table.
- CTA button: Link directly to the product page (or cart if you want speed-to-checkout).

- Click Finish Editing to save the template changes.
- Name the automation and click Publish to make it live.
